Many users report the block works through DNS, the "phone book" your network uses to find websites. Switching your device to a public DNS such as Cloudflare or Google gets Discord loading again for most people. It's a normal network setting, it's free, and you can switch it back anytime.
This is a temporary workaround, not a fix. If Discord still won't load after switching, your network is blocking it in another way. Try the free Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 app with WARP turned on.
- Open Settings and search for Private DNS. On Samsung it's under Connections, then More connection settings.
- Choose Private DNS provider hostname.
- Type
one.one.one.oneordns.googleand tap Save. - Close Discord completely, then open it again.
Works on both mobile data and Wi-Fi.
- Install the free 1.1.1.1 app from Cloudflare.
- Open it and turn it on. If Discord still won't load, switch the app to WARP mode.
- Close Discord completely, then open it again.
On Wi-Fi only, you can also go to Settings, Wi-Fi, tap the ⓘ next to your network, then Configure DNS, Manual, and add 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. iPhones don't let you change DNS for mobile data this way, so use the app.
- Open Settings, then Network & internet, then Wi-Fi or Ethernet, then Hardware properties.
- Next to DNS server assignment, choose Edit, then Manual, and turn on IPv4.
- Preferred DNS
1.1.1.1, alternate DNS1.0.0.1. Set DNS over HTTPS to On if it's offered, then Save. - Open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig /flushdns, then restart Discord.
- Open System Settings, then Wi-Fi, then Details next to your network.
- Go to DNS, click +, and add
1.1.1.1and1.0.0.1. Click OK. - Quit Discord completely and open it again.
For Discord in a browser at discord.com/app:
- Chrome or Edge: Settings, Privacy and security, Security, turn on Use secure DNS, and pick Cloudflare.
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy & Security, DNS over HTTPS, choose Increased protection, and pick Cloudflare.
- Close every browser window and reopen it.
